- 2Ponte da ArrabidaPonte da Arrábida – A masterpiece of engineering in the heart of the Douro. Inaugurated in 1963, this impressive armed concrete structure was at the time the bridge with the largest concrete bow in the world, with 270 meters of vanity. View from the sailboat, its grandiosity and elegance gain a new dimension. It's a real live postcard of the city! Passes by without stopping
- 3Igreja da Confraria das Almas do Corpo Santo de MassarelosChurch of Massarelos – Tradition and Devotion to Beira do Douro. Situated by the river, the Church of Massarelos is one of the discreet jewels of Porto, loaded with history and popular devotion. Dedicated to Our Lady of Grace, it is especially venerated by the fishermen and people of the sea, being the stage of one of the oldest pilgrimages in the city, which is held annually in honor of the patroness. Originating in the 18th century, this church is distinguished by its facade coated with traditional Portuguese tiles, which illustrate religious scenes with a very own charm. Its tower, visible from the river, serves as a reference point for those who sail in the Douro. It is a place that reflects the soul of the city: simple, authentic and full of faith. - 4Jardins do Palacio de CristalGardens of the Crystal Palace – The Green View of the City. At the top of the hills of Porto, with a privileged view of the River Douro, are the stunning Gardens of the Crystal Palace. A true oasis of tranquility and beauty in the heart of the city. Designed in the 19th century by German landscape architect Émile David, the gardens offer a harmonious combination of romantic alamedas, serene lakes and breathtaking viewpoints. It is one of the most beloved places by the portusans to stroll, picnic or simply contemplate the view over the Douro, Gaia and the ocean at the bottom. - 5Alfandega Porto Congress CentrePorto Customs Congress Center – A historic icon at the Douro Beach. Located on the right bank of the River Douro, in the heart of the historic centre of Porto, the Porto Customs Congress Centre is one of the city’s most iconic buildings. Built in the 16th century, this circular monastery is unique in Portugal, inspired by Italian Renaissance churches. Its church and impressive circular cloister were designed by the Order of St. Augustine, and later the building had military use, which explains its robustness and strategic location. Today, the Serra do Pilar Monastery is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and offers one of the most stunning viewpoints over Porto and the river Douro. The top board accommodates the metro and pedestrians, providing one of the most amazing views over the Douro, while the lower board connects the rivery neighborhoods, such as Ribeira and Cais de Gaia. Seeing her from the river is a unique experience. The iron bow carved against the sky, reflected in the calm waters of the Douro, creates a memorable and often unforgettable image for those who contemplate it for the first time. This picturesque and vibrant landscape is so striking that it has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. From the deck of the sailboat, the view is simply magical! Balconies with clothes to dry, the reflections of the facades in the waters of the Douro and the bubble of local life mixed with street music.
