Sapa Valley Trek
About
Sapa Valley Trek, formerly known as Highland Harmony Trek, takes you through the same beautiful route many guests reviewed under its previous name. This carefully planned journey explores Muong Hoa Valley, one of Sapa’s most scenic and culturally rich areas, passing through Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai, and Ta Van villages.
Along the way, travelers walk past rice terraces, mountain views, forest paths, and riverside trails. A locally prepared lunch offers a taste of H’mong hospitality and a chance to experience village life in a natural, respectful way.

What to expect
- 1Muong Hoa ValleyYour journey begins with a gentle descent into Muong Hoa Valley, where stone paths wind through steep terraced hills and quiet Black H’mong villages. As the valley unfolds, rice paddies stretch across the landscape, framed by misty mountains and the flowing Muong Hoa River—setting the tone for an unforgettable day of trekking and cultural discovery. 1 hr
- 2Y Linh HoTucked into the hills above Muong Hoa Valley, Y Linh Ho is a small Black H’mong village where the trek begins with peaceful views and authentic encounters. Travelers will follow narrow dirt paths along steep rice terraces, pass water buffalo in the fields, and see traditional wooden homes built into the hillside. It’s a gentle, scenic start to the journey—offering both cultural insight and a sense of calm before entering the busier villages ahead. 2 hrs
- 3Lao Chai TrailLao Chai is a larger Black H’mong village nestled in the heart of Muong Hoa Valley. As trekkers arrive, they’re greeted by sweeping views of layered rice terraces and daily village life. This is where the group pauses for a freshly prepared local lunch—often served at a family home or simple eatery, offering traditional flavors and a chance to rest. It’s a perfect moment to connect with the surroundings and reflect before continuing the journey toward Ta Van. 2 hrs
- 4Ta Van VillageAfter trekking through terraced landscapes and river crossings, travelers reach Ta Van, a tranquil village home to the Giay ethnic group. Here, stilt houses line the valley floor, surrounded by lush fields and mountain backdrops. It’s a quieter, more spacious setting than previous villages—ideal for observing daily rural life, from bamboo weaving to herding ducks along the river. Ta Van often marks the final stretch of the trek, offering a calm and scenic finish to the journey through Muong Hoa Valley. 2 hrs
